Actimi, RPM and Digital Healthcare Solutions

Actimi is a comprehensive remote patient monitoring (RPM) and digital healthcare platform developed to support senior homes, hospitals, and cardiac patients in managing their health from the comfort of their homes. The product is centered around medical device packages paired with tablets, allowing users to track vital health metrics remotely. Healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, can monitor patients’ data in real-time using an integrated dashboard and tablet application.

My Role in the Project

As a UX/UI designer for Actimi, I was responsible for:

Improving the user experience and interface of the Actimi dashboard and tablet app based on user feedback and new feature requests.
Designing and developing the Actimi website from scratch using Framer.
Collaborating with product owners and the development team to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and seamless feature integration.
Creating visuals for pitch presentations and trade shows, as well as establishing an e-commerce presence through Shopify.
Adapting the tablet interface for mobile, ensuring accessibility, usability, and scalability across devices.

Designing for Diverse User Groups in Healthcare

The app needed to serve elderly patients, doctors, and nurses, each with unique needs. This variety of users introduced a range of UX challenges. For elderly users, I focused on designing an interface with:

Ensuring color contrast met WCAG standards for readability.
Incorporating larger touchpoints for easier interaction, particularly on tablets.
Simplified navigation for essential tasks such as recording measurements or participating in video consultations.

For healthcare professionals, I worked on refining the dashboard interface by simplifying workflows, making it easier to:

Track patient data and receive real-time alerts for abnormal health measurements.
Assign tasks to nurses or prescribe medications based on assessment results.
Conduct video consultations with patients, allowing remote management of care.

Mobile App Adaptation

Originally designed for tablets, Actimi needed to be adapted for mobile devices to reach a wider audience. I took the core design elements from the tablet version and optimized them for smaller screens, ensuring that the same accessibility features applied while enhancing usability for mobile users. This extension will allow patients to use Actimi on their smartphones, expanding the product’s reach and flexibility.

Showcase Actimi’s healthcare solutions clearly and effectively.
Provide potential customers with a configurator to select the appropriate RPM packages for their needs.
Be fully responsive to ensure a consistent experience across devices.
